Technical Pre-Sales Manager

Role Summary

We are looking for a Technical Pre-Sales Manager to serve as a key technical advisor and solutions architect during the sales process. You will work closely with the sales, engineering, and product teams to understand customer requirements, propose technically viable solutions, and support product demonstrations, trials, and project scoping.

This role is ideal for someone with a strong technical background in forecourt technology who also enjoys engaging directly with clients to shape solutions and influence business decisions.

Key Responsibilities

Act as the primary technical resource supporting the sales team during discovery, proposal, and solution design phases.

Engage in client meetings, site visits, and workshops to gather technical requirements and identify solution opportunities.

Provide subject matter expertise on products such as OPTs, forecourt controllers, fuel dispensers, tank gauges, and POS systems.

Prepare and deliver product demonstrations, proof-of-concept setups, and technical presentations.

Support the development of proposals, tenders, and RFPs—ensuring technical accuracy and alignment with customer expectations.

Coordinate with engineering, project, and product teams to validate solution feasibility and ensure smooth handover.

Stay current on product roadmaps, industry trends, and competitive technologies to advise clients effectively.

Maintain and improve pre-sales documentation, demo kits, configuration templates, and support materials.

Gather client feedback and provide insights to internal teams to inform future product enhancements.

Qualifications & Experience

Minimum 3 years’ experience in technical sales, pre-sales, or solution engineering, preferably in the fuel retail, forecourt automation, or industrial systems sector.

Degree or professional qualification in Engineering, Technology, Business, or a related field.

Strong understanding of technologies including forecourt controllers, fuel dispensers, OPTs, POS, or EV charging infrastructure.

Experience preparing technical documentation and supporting commercial teams during the sales lifecycle.

Skills & Attributes

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, able to engage effectively with both technical and commercial stakeholders.

Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Proficient in Microsoft Office and familiar with CRM/ERP systems such as SAP, Navision (NAV), Jira, or C4C.

Knowledge of communication protocols (e.g., IFSF, TCP/IP) and forecourt integration is advantageous.

Self-starter with strong organisation and time management skills.

Comfortable with nationwide travel and client-facing work.
